Your Centre needs you NOW!

Do you wish to continue to Rally with South Essex ?

The South Essex Centre Committee needs YOU, NOW!.

As you may be aware the current Treasurer and Secretary are standing down at this year’s AGM.

The Centre can only continue to run going forward if it has the 3 officers, Chairman, Treasurer & Secretary, and 2 further Committee members as a minimum.

If we do not have the required Committee members standing at the AGM, any rally scheduled after the AGM will not be able to run. The Centre will immediately be put into hibernation, with all activities frozen

Please think about joining the Committee now. Contact any of the current Committee members before it is too late.

If you feel you could fill one of the roles as Treasurer, Secretary or Committee, please email a slip to the current Secretary Janice Price.

Support will be given. The email address is:

Secretary@secc-online.org.uk

Thank you

South Essex Centre Committee.

COMMITTEE NOMINATION SLIPS FOR 2025-2026.

Nomination slips for members wishing to stand for committee for the coming year will need to be with me by 20th September. Please email the slips to:

secretary@secc-online.org.uk

or pass them on to any currently serving committee member.

As you may be aware I am standing down as secretary at this years AGM.

A new Treasurer and Secretary are both required this year for the centre to continue.

Please continue to support the centre and consider standing for committee for the coming year. Thank you.

South Essex Matters – Your Centre needs YOU !

As announced during Flagpole on the Nine Acres Rally, this morning, at the forthcoming AGM the Centre Treasurer AND Centre Secretary will stand down. My three year term as Chairman will expire, as such, the three mandatory positions on the Committee will need to be filled. I understand that we are fortunate to have somebody willing to stand as Centre Chair.

The Centre does need to fill the positions of both Secretary & Treasurer. From my own point of view, having spent the last fifteen years on the main committee, along with Kevin Higgins, I will be stepping back from running the Centre. I would never say never again, but at present it is time for somebody else to step up, if you all, as I do, want the Centre to continue. I would be more than willing to offer support to anybody taking on the responsibility should it be requested, but in the background. For the sake of clarity, the Caravan & Motorhome Club can only permit a Centre to continue where the position of Chair, Treasurer and Secretary are filled appropriately, in addition to other committee members.

When we only circulated news by a periodic Newsletter, the Newsletter was entitled ‘South Essex Matters’. This name was put forward by the late, much respected Alan Leslie. As you will all know Alan served on committee for several years himself culminating in becoming Chairman from 1998 to 2001. In 2010 Alan returned to Committee, at that time to fill the position of Hon. Secretary. If South Essex matters to you, now is the time that YOUR Centre needs YOU. As current Chairman, can I ask all members to consider these needs, and please feel free to contact me, or Kevin, or Janice.

If you are in a position to join Committee in any role, it is time to get your slips into Janice.

Many thanks

DAVID

CHAIRMAN’S CHARITY RALLY – Please support our Centre

If you have not already done so, can I please ask members to book onto our Chairman’s Charity Rally. We have much planned, as you will be aware from the flyer, and there is more too.

We will shortly be sending out information packs to all of those who have booked on.

In line with successful Charity Rallies of the past we will be having a fete on Sunday Afternoon. Clearly the more ‘tables’ we have the better it is for everybody. So if you have a craft you would like to exhibit, some things you would like to sell, or you have some family/novelty games for people to partake in and enjoy, please book a table. A £5 donation to our charities will be requested if you are selling anything. This opportunity can be extended to family or friends of members. Anybody interested please contact me, by phone or e.mail. The fete is scheduled for 1:30 to 3:00 on the Sunday, and is just one of many things being put on over the five days.

Time to support Our Centre, Our Charities, and have a great time with Your Friends. Now is the time to send booking form, with payment to Kevin Higgins.

We look forward to seeing you 14 – 18 August, Shopland Hall, Rochford.

Thanking you in advance for your support

BLASFORD HILLS

Dear Fellow Ralliers

On 27th – 29th June we are holding a rally at Blasford Hills in honour of absent friends and in particular to remember a much-missed fellow rallier, rally marshal and dreaded quiz master, Janet Appleton.

The site owner has offered to donate all the site fees from this rally to St Lukes hospice in recognition of Janet, so we really need your support on this rally if at all possible.

The site is surrounded by pleasant farm land and the river Chelmer giving pleasant walks to local watering holes.

Programme will include a ramble along the river to a local pub, tea and cakes in the afternoon and quizes to blow away the cobwebs in the evening.

There will not be a fishing competition but fishing is available if required. The site also provides a purpose made dog exercise area which is bookable for a fee.

Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Kevin
