MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN

I can now advise that the Centre have acquired two Defibrillators. With the help of Committee Members/Marshals we will try to get one to each rally, where there is not one on site. They will usually be held by the Main Marshal during the Rally. Hopefully they will not be required, but we felt the time had come when it is a wise investment. To use these units is self explanatory, once you open the unit, it even talks you through what to do. However we are in the process of arranging a demonstration at the Chairman’s Charity Rally, just to give extra reassurance, so yet another reason to book.

On that note, can I encourage all members to book onto My Chairman’s Charity Rally as soon as possible. Please send booking form, and payment (post dated cheques to 15/7/2025 accepted). The cost for the five days, four nights, is just £95.00. The committee are busy organizing all of the advertised events/activities, plus more, but to finalise arrangements we do need an idea of numbers attending. Please support me for my final Chairman’s Rally, and as a result the Charities we are supporting, which were nominated by members.

MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN

“As  I enter our final six months as Chairman, it is time to think about the future of the Centre. Clearly a new Chair will be required, and I can also advise, after 15 years on Committee, 9 as Treasurer, Kevin Higgins will be standing down, as he mentioned at last year’s AGM. In order for the Centre to continue this position also needs to be filled, therefore please please give it consideration, and feel free to speak to Kevin or I in the coming weeks.”

I had a call from Bob Leishman last Wednesday with the sad news that Sheila had passed. At that time Bob was not ready for me to post the news on Facebook.

Below is the message Bob posted today.

We send our deepest sympathy to Bob and family.

This post is to say that the most beautiful of persons, my loved and cherished wife Sheila Leishman passed away last Wednesday the 19th March after a long illness.

It’s too early for me & our children to say when Sheila’s funeral will be as we are all heavily saddened by our loss.
