JOHN TAUBERT – Such Very Sad News

It is with the greatest regret that I have to let you know that John Taubert’s family has been in contact to say they lost John last Friday and that he died peacefully with his family around him.  Our sincerest condolences are sent to his wife, Pauline and their family at this sad time.

John and Pauline have been at the heart of the South Essex Centre for so many years, being on the Committee, running rallies, attending Nationals and being part of the Carnival Walk.  I have seen some photos today showing John in various fancy dress bringing back wonderful memories. I am sure our members have their own memories to share together.

John also played a large part on the Committee over many years, taking roles such as Rally Secretary, Social Secretary and Vice-Chairman, no small tasks.  Over the last few years their support for the Centre has been very much appreciated.

At this moment we have no further details, but we will let members know of any arrangements.

Sending our love, hugs and kisses to Pauline and the family xxx

Valentines Massacre  –  13-15 February 26 CANCELLED

Dear Members

Valentines Massacre  –  13-15 February 26

I am very sorry to say that the above rally has been cancelled due to lack of support.

They had great plans to run a romantic Gangster Valentines evening with roulette table, romantic dance music and some food.  However, this rally needed enough people to create the atmosphere to lead to a great Molls & Gangster party.

The Marshals, Jenny & Alan with their Assistant Marshals, were truly disappointed and after much planning were really looking forward to creating a fun weekend for members.

I was looking forward to the rally and have put my violin case with gun back in the wardrobe ready for when needed.  We need creative teams ready to add rallies to the Programme and would ask for support where possible. Best Wishes                                                                                                                                                    Beverley Walker

SUPPORT OUR NEW VALENTINES RALLY.

In addition to the Rally Programme printed in the Rally Book, we have a Valentines Rally at Shopland Hall (Details in Rally Section of the Web Site). So come on Folks, support this Rally. We all want SECC to survive, and therefore need to support this year’s Rally’s and the people that are standing up to run the Centre and events for us . . . . and what happened to romance ? Surely we are not too old to celebrate Valentines with our loved ones, in the lovely decorated, and warmer, Essex Barn. Looking forward to seeing you there, as Marion and I are assisting on this.

THE SUFFOLK PUNCH TRUST, SUFFOLK

We have been contacted by the Anglia Division today to say that unfortunately the Anglia Division Question Time Rally has had to be cancelled. They have heard from the venue that it will not be able to take place due to closure.

It is a shame as the Venue was certainly worthy of a visit.

If we get any more information then we will let members know but the cancellation process has begun.
