ALTERATION TO RALLY MARSHAL'S DOCUMENTS

An amendment has been made to Rally Marshal's Documentation with regard to FM Tags and their price increase. Please be aware of this before costing your rally.

PLEASE BE AWARE:

Your South Essex Membership has to be renewed every year through the Caravan and Motorhome Club guaranteeing your continued membership of the member webpage. The user ID and password will soon be changing and you will need to be a current member to reapply for this information.

RALLY PLAQUE INCREASE

Due to a price increase by FM Tags, as from the 1st March 2019 the new price for the standard triangular plaque is 85p.

All rallies on or after this date must charge the increased price.


EASTER AT RUTLAND WATER

Sheila & I are pleased to announce that we now have three very good assistant marshals for the rally Easter in Rutland, Joan Carter, June & Paul Langford. 

It would be advisable to all rally folk to bring along with them leveling blocks and if possible please also bring along with you wind breaks. We are not expecting it to be especially windy of course but a wind break may be useful for the evening shelters / marquis. 

The rally is just on half full [at the time of writing in mid January], so if you have friends who are thinking of joining this Easter Rally which overlooks Rutland Water, please let them know the rally is half full already. 


SAD NEWS

Beryl Megraw (an old South Essex member) passed away on 3rd January peacefully at home aged 82.

The funeral is to be held at 12.30pm on 24th January at Basildon Crematorium, Flowers are welcome or donations to Havens Hospice at Home, as the family said they were wonderful during this sad time.

Condolences go to Charlie and the family.


SAD NEWS

Joan Morgan passed away on 6th January in Basildon Hospital aged 92. Both she and Bob were old South Essex members.

The funeral will be held at 10.30am on 29th January at Chelmsford Crematorium, Writtle Road, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 3BL, There will be family flowers only and donations are requested for the Heart Foundation.

Condolences are sent to Stuart and Jan (her son and daughter).


ANNUAL DINNER DANCE

The Annual Dinner is now full, however, there are spaces at the Blenheim site if anyone wishes to attend the rally only.

The coaches will collect and return to both venues.

Looking forward to a great evening.


RALLY PROGRAMME UPDATES

I am pleased to advise that the 2019 Rally Books have now been delivered from the Printers.

If you have already ordered one, and sent payment, your rally book will be posted to you in the next few days.

If you would like to purchase a 2019 Rally Book, either Send a cheque for £3.50, made payable to 'The Caravan Club, South Essex Centre" to Phil Goldspink. Alternatively see any committee member on a rally to purchase a book for £2.00.

We are please to Advise the the 'National Follow-On' Rally at Hatton Country World, has been picked up by Bev and Alan Walker.

Unfortunately the 'Clare Priory in Spring' rally has been cancelled by the landowner. If anybody wants to run an alternative rally on the weekend of 31st May to 2nd June 2019, please contact the Rally Secretary. Creative Clare will still run on 30th Aug to 1st September.

'Carnival Time in Burnham', 27th to 29th September is incorrectly shown as £5.00 per night in the book. This should read £8.00 per unit, per night, as the landowner has increased the cost after many years of charging the same rate.

Finally, a note to all marshals - Please complete the Equipment Request Form, contained inside your Rally Marshal packs, and return to Geoff Appleton, as soon as possible. This helps him to allocate and organise delivery/collection of any centre equipment you may need for your rally.

THE 200 CLUB DRAW

The January draw of the 200 Club took place today on the Mainly Marshals Thank You rally.

The 1st number drawn was 39 and that person will receive s cheque for £20

The 2nd number drawn was 176 and that owner will receive a cheque for £10

The 3rd number drawn was 43 and will be £5 richer.

Congratulations to them all and the February draw will take place on the Celebrate Valentines rally.


BEWARE!!!

There are a lot of emails being generated amongst our members. It is ok to open the email but under no circumstances must you click on the green oblong button.  As soon  as you see this message button, delete the email immediately. Once you activate this button it has the ability to access the whole of your email contacts and send this to each of them. Please help us to put a stop to this nuisance.


THE 200 CLUB

The December draw of the 200 Club took part on the Xmas Party Time rally.

1st number drawn was 81 and that person will receive a cheque for £20

2nd number drawn was 28 and that person will receive a cheque for £10

3rd number drawn was 10 and that person will receive a cheque for £5

Congratulations to them all and the January draw will take place at the Mainly Marshals rally next weekend.

I am pleased to advise you that all 200 Club numbers have all been sold.


RBM's NEEDED AT NEXT YEARS NATIONAL

The National 24th-28th May 2019 at Ragley Hall Park & Gardens

There are spaces available for members who are attending the National next year, to volunteer as Rally Block Marshals (RBM's) to assist Mark & Debra Terry who are our Lead RBM's.

Also they are looking for as many people as possible to help, so they can have a rota covering the weekend ensuring everyone gets time to enjoy what the National has to offer.

If there are any members who would like to help the Region with this important task, could they email Mark & Debra at rallyblockmarshal@suffolkcentre.co.uk for more details.


2019 AGM

Next years AGM will be on Sunday 20th October 2019 at Chelmer Valley High School. The AGM rally will run from Friday 18th -Sunday 20th October at the same venue.

We wanted the AGM rally to be held at one venue and as there will be a change of Chairman this usually means there is a larger amount of units on the rally, so because of this, the only choice of venue was Chelmer to accommodate everyone. The facilities are better too and more suitable for our needs..

The dates 4th-6th and 11th-13th October were unavailable, so that it is why the above dates have been chosen.

More details will be in 2019 rally book, but this is a notification for your diaries.

2019 RALLY PLANNING SHEETS

David Mills is still waiting for several Rally Planning Sheets. If you have agreed to run a Rally in 2019, can you please ensure that your planning sheets are sent ASAP.  If anybody has any queries, please contact David.


CHAIRMAN'S CHARITY

I am pleased to advise you, that following last weeks AGM, that the chosen Chairman's Charity to receive our fundraising for 2018/19 is the Essex Air Ambulance.

If marshals running rallies during this Charity year would like to raise funds by running raffles etc, it would be appreciated and after our Committee meeting next week, I will let you know who the Charity Officer will be.

RELAUNCH OF THE 200 CLUB

The 200 Club is being re-launched at the Hunstanton Hacienda rally for the Chairman's charity year.

There will be three prizes each month of £20, £10 and £5.
