Death of Bill Hart
It is with deep regret that we have to announce the death of Bill Hart who died on January 20th of lymphatic cancer. Bill’s membership of the Centre goes back to the mid sixties and until only a few years ago he was a regular visitor to the National. The funeral will take place on Monday February 6th at 2.30 pm at Pitsea Crematorium.

Our thoughts and Condolences are with June and the family at this sad time.

Latest News about the Christmas at Westcliff Rally
24th - 27th December 2012

Things are moving on very positively in our plans for another fun-filled and socially gastronomic Christmas Rally in 2012. A new team of Marshals has been formed, bringing together a mix of experience and fresh new ideas and energy to continue the long tradition of memorable South Essex Centre Christmas Rallies stretching back to 1970.

The role of main Marshals has now been taken on by Lynda and Ian Carter who, together with their team of Paul Langford and June Eastman, Nerina and Paul Alden, Alan Leslie and Kate and Andy Crowe, are working hard already to ensure the rally lives up to traditional expectations. With our intention to create a truly festive atmosphere within which to savour all the quality traditional fayre and usual trimmings, together with a variety of live entertainment and activities, amongst like minded friends and their families, what more could you ask for at this special time of the year?

All we ask in return is that you get your booking slip and £25.00 deposit to us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Come on, you know you want to and, for an appropriate fee, we can even accommodate members of your family as day guests if you feel that you don’t want to abandon them completely. The rally is open to all Club members irrespective of Centre membership, so we look forward to hearing from you soon and welcoming the lucky ones there.

Clarification of online booking status
Unfortunately at the forum at the mainly marshals rally it was incorrectly stated that postal bookings have preference over online bookings. This is not so. All bookings have equal weight. We hope that this clarifies the situation.

Sad Loss of Sean Hayward
It is with regret that we announce the death of Sean Hayward who lost his fight against cancer on the morning of Saturday October 15th 2011. Our thoughts and condolences are with Sandra and the Family at this dark time.

The funeral will take place at Pitsea crematorium at 10.00 am this Thursday (October 20th). No Flowers by request – all donations to the Royal Marsden Hospital or to St Lukes Hospice Basildon.

South Essex 50th Anniversary
Next year is our centre’s 50th anniversary.

Our committee will be holding a rally to celebrate at Doggetts Farm on the 24th to 27th August 2012 (Bank Holiday).

This may seem a long way away, but time soon passes by, as we all know. I have been asked by our Chair Lady ifI could put a show together to help with the celebration.

I have agreed to do this, but i do need help from the centre members for this to take place. So if any of you are interested in doing a piece please get in touch, it doesn’t matter if it is only a small thing, as many small can make a good show.

Without the help from members this will not be possible.
It is fun to participate and that’s what it is all about. Fun fun fun.
